The Slamannan Railway , Falkirk, Scotland, was created by the Slamannan Railway Act of 1835 and the line opened for business in 1835 . The line ran from Arbuckle, near Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, to Slamannan, Falkirk, in the Monklands district between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The line was extended to Causewayend, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, on the Union Canal. It was later extended to Bo'ness and Kinneil in the Falkirk district, and Bathgate, East Lothian, Scotland. ...
